Even Oscar winners can get a little nervous about hanging out with superheroes!

ET sat down with J.K. Simmons to talk about his film The Meddler on Saturday, where he revealed just how he feels about playing Commissioner Jim Gordon in the upcoming Justice League films.

Simmons, 61, is no stranger to that world, having played Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson opposite Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and voicing the character in various TV shows and video games.

To see what the Dark Knight trilogy's Commissioner Gordon, the great Gary Oldman, had to say about Simmons taking on the role - go to ETonline.com
