Rubbing Elbows Backstage at the 2016 SAG Awards
Guys! I won another SAG Award!! Two years in a row - I can't believe it! Okay, not really. But after the red carpet, I did have the best seat in the house as all of the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award winners came backstage to sign for their awards! Little known fact, each award is individually numbered and must be signed for by the recipient in order for them to take it home that evening. When the winner of each category is announced, it is a mad dash to get all of the awards

EXCLUSIVE! (...sort of)
The world of "Exclusives" is tricky. Many viewers believe that an exclusive only exists if you're the ONLY person who asked the question or the only place where they can find the info. Most producers believe any interview when you're one on one can be considered an exclusive. But the reality of today's world is that everyone reports on everyone else's reporting so the whole idea of an "Exclusive" is completely muddled. And if you're not the only interview that person is doing

ETonline: Idris Elba Urges British Government to Promote Racial Diversity on Screen
Idris Elba gave the "most important" speech of his life on Monday, urging the British government to promote racial diversity on screen. He explained that he pursued his career as an actor in America because of the "glass ceiling" and stereotyping he was running into in the U.K., only landing roles as "best friends" or "gang leaders,” versus the lead. “My agent and I, we’d get scripts and we were always asked to read the ‘black male’ character. Or ‘the athletic type,’” Elba sa

Caitlyn Jenner showed her support for the film, Tangerine, and one of its stars, Mya Taylor, by lending her voice to the first-ever Oscar campaign for a transgender actress. On Monday, the I Am Cait star hosted a special screening of the film in Los Angeles. As the credits rolled on the film, Jenner stood off to the side of the theater reading notes from her phone. She looked serious and perhaps a little nervous. “There’s a lot of momentum in the trans community, but we have

Awards Season Kickoff in Palm Springs
I kicked off 2016 with a bang! Or rather, the Awards Calendar forced me to kick off 2016 by immediately getting back to work with the Palm Springs International Film Festival! I returned from my Christmas vacation in Dallas on December 30th, went back to the office on the 31st, transferred my clean clothes from my suitcase to my duffle bag, grabbed some sparkly jewelry, and set out for Palm Springs on the first day of the New Year! This was my first year working the festival,

The Force Awakens
On December 31, 2015, I found myself sitting in a movie theater with my boyfriend at 4pm. Unless it's a screening for work, I never got to the movies in the middle of the afternoon. But this New Years Eve was special, because I was watching Star Wars. Okay sure, it was the third time I was watching The Force Awakens. But I rarely see a movie more than twice, so that alone made it special. You see, Star Wars has been one of my favorite franchises since I was a little girl; I p
